He's Back!

Otto Pfister is to make a shock return as Togo coach just three days after walking out on the team over a dispute on unpaid bonuses. His return has now been confirmed by the Togolese Football Federation (TFF), this after Pfister’s son and agent, Mike, confirmed that an agreement has been reached to enable his father to resume his duties with the Sparrowhawks.

“Yes, he is back as a Togo coach,” said Pfister Jr. “It is a matter of the heart. The FA has decided to chose him against all other candidates. The players have also tried to get him back over the last days and contacted him, which was the decisive step.”

Pfister Jr also denied rumours that his father had turned down the Crystal Palace job after Simon Jordan had refused him permission to bring Steve Kember in as his number two, Trevor Francis as his number three and Steve Bruce as head coach. Perhaps Otto was just taking the Pfis.

  • well obviously you will post your "Croatia deserved to win" post a bit later...OK, it eally was a good game and MAYBE 1-1 would have been fair...but I've just read the beeb's report:

    Coatia v Brazil

...and I think...they wrote most of that BEFORE the game...were they watching something else or are the reporters as bias as the refs in favour of the 'big sides'.

  • Anyway...the report starts..."Croatia's tactics frustrated Brazil for much of the match, but just before the interval Kaka's wonderful curling left-footed shot beat Stipe Pletikosa."...great goal, no doubt but then I thought I must be losing it because I've just read the BBC stats...is it possible that I remember CLEARLY more than 4 shots on target by Croatia JUST IN THE SECOND HALF but they attribute 4 in the whole game...I cannot remember the 9 on target (although there were several) they attribute to Brazil...am I dreaming?...is this true? Am I so bias towards the underdog that I CAN'T SEE?
