USA Today
Most of the stuff on this page will be my own work, it's the creative side of me trying to get out, but sometime I will publish (if that's not too grand an expression) something from the media circus that is covering the World Cup.
This is how USA Today rates team USA's hopes:
"American icon Homer Simpson said it best: "D'oh!!!" If the U.S. had not been drawn into this group of death (as opposed to Group C, the Group of Death), the only possible remaining spots were extremely favorable. Instead, the U.S. will face the Czech Republic, ranked second in the world, traditional power Italy and a very solid African side in Ghana. The U.S. could pull a minor miracle and make it through, but given their record under Arena on European soil, that's pretty much what it would take."
Incidentally this is what USA Today says about England's chances: "An underachiever since winning its only title, England has the flair and spirit to trouble opponents, but a habit of faltering in the knockout stages."
Is USA Today edited by a Scot or an English realist?

An English realist I'd say. Bastard.
