Oh What A Circus!

I was off work yesterday and found myself drawn like the proverbial moth towards Sky Sports all day coverage of the boy Rooney's journey from Baden Baden (so good they named it twice), to Manchester, Liverpool and then back to Manchester.

As so much media coverage, resources and manpower been devoted to such a little break? When the plane finally took off there was a palpable sense of relief, my only worry was the Ryanair jet that suddenly appeared left of screen as the FA's jet was taxiing down the runway.

I did like the comment of the BBC 24 journalist though, "I've been here since mid morning when the only people here were plane spotters, as the day wore on people with something more important to see began turning-up." Let's just hope his next assignment isn't in Greece!
